To date, almost 74.2 million vaccinations have been made in Russia with the first component of the coronavirus vaccine, the herd immunity level is estimated at 55.7%, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said. According to her, Sevastopol remains the leader in collective immunity among the regions – 83.7%. Last week, the herd immunity rate in Russia was 53.7%.
“As of December 10, vaccination with the first component was carried out 74 189 385 times, vaccination of the full cycle – 67 260 355 times. The level of herd immunity in Russia is 55.7%, ”said Ms. Golikova (quoted from the website of the operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus).
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the situation has worsened in three regions – Karachay-Cherkessia, Adygea and Chechnya. Improvement is observed in 12 regions. The level of herd immunity above 72% has been achieved in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Karelia, St. Petersburg, Tyva, the Moscow Region and Moscow. A slight decrease in the level of herd immunity occurred in the Magadan region and Chechnya, Ms. Golikova specified.
According to the latest data from the headquarters, 30,873 cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Russia per day. This is 2.2% more than the day before (30,209). Since the beginning of the pandemic in the country, 9,956,679 people have fallen ill with COVID-19.
