Kaduva movie | Prithviraj’s ‘Tiger’ banned from release; Applicable in theater and OTT
The release of Prithviraj’s Prithviraj’s film Kaduva, directed by Shaji Kailas, has been put on hold. The Ernakulam sub-court issued the interim order on a petition filed by Jose Kuruvinakkunnel, a native of Pala. The film makes his life unhelpful. He complained that there were scenes in the film that insulted him and his family.
A temporary ban applies to the release and release of a movie trailer. This also applies to the screenwriter of the film. The case is set to return to court on December 14.
After a lot of controversy and legal battles, the news came that Prithviraj is coming to the silver screen as Kaduvakkunnel Kuruvachan. Prithviraj had released the poster of the movie ‘Kaduva’ announcing the name of the character after the legal battle with the Suresh Gopi movie under the same story.
Even after the announcement of both the films, Kuruvachan was still alive. His demand at the time was that his story could not be made into a film without his permission. Kuruvachan claimed that the story he had spoken to Ranji Panicker years ago was his own.

Both the films made headlines after Jinu filed a petition in the Ernakulam District Court seeking an injunction restraining the shooting of Suresh Gopi’s film on the grounds of similarities between the two films. In August 2020, the court upheld the ban on the 250th film starring Suresh Gopi.
It was alleged that the character and script of the film directed by Shaji Kailas after a long hiatus were copied in violation of copyright. The ban was upheld after the court heard arguments from both sides and examined the script.
Suresh Gopi was supposed to direct the film with Mathews Thomas, Jinu Abraham’s assistant director. Later, Suresh Gopi’s film ‘Ottakompan’ went ahead.
After a gap of eight years, Shaji Kailas first announced the film Tiger. But during the second wave of Kovid, the film had a scheduled break. Meanwhile, Elon has completed the Ashirwad movie starring Mohanlal. The Tiger is written by Jinu Abraham, the director of ‘Adam Johnny’ and the screenwriter of the films London Bridge and Masters.
