Car thefts: Paris and its region are breaking records

by time news

The evolution has never been so marked for ten years. After a relative lull, vehicle thefts in France recorded a sharp increase in 2022. In total, 133,800 were stolen last year. Or on average one every four minutes. And Île-de-France represents the area most at risk, even if the increase (+ 3.5%) remains more contained than in the rest of France (+ 9%). This data is taken from the flight observatory that the driver assistance application Coyote is releasing this Thursday. Thanks to data from its Coyote Secure activity, its vehicle tracking system, and its teams of detectives, it was even able to draw up a list of the methods most frequently used by thugs.
