Endurance opens a new golden age

Manufacturers such as Peugeot, Ferrari or Porsche have joined a discipline in full revival, less expensive and more ecological than Formula 1. The outlook is promising.

The concrete and bumpy asphalt of the Sebring circuit (Florida) will heat up this Friday from 5 p.m. The Florida route, and its 1000 miles on the program (live on Eurosport and La Chaîne l’Équipe), will kick off an endurance season that will (finally) make fans of these marathons salivate, between 6 hours and 24 hours (like at Le Mans), during which the cars swallow as many kilometers as a Formula 1 over a full season!

The sun is finally shining for the World Endurance Championship after years of waiting and a plateau sometimes reduced to the bare minimum. Six cars were dueling in 2022. The pack has more than doubled this year, Peugeot and its two 9×8s, Porsche, Ferrari, back after fifty years of absence, and Cadillac as well as the Glickenhaus teams (United States ) and Vanwall (Austria), will challenge Toyota, which has reigned supreme for five years.
