Nepidov,

In last year’s general election in India’s neighbor Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi’s ruling party won and retained power. However, the country’s military seized power on February 1, citing election irregularities.

Aung San Suu Kyi, 76, was subsequently placed under house arrest. He was tried and sentenced to 4 years in prison, which was later reduced to 2 years. However, some cases against him are said to be pending.

Meanwhile, the Myanmar military is cracking down on the people’s struggle against military rule. About 1,300 people have been killed so far in military operations against protesters. Last Sunday, an army vehicle collided with protesters, killing five people.

In this situation, the people of the country remained in their homes, refusing to go to work, in order to fight peacefully against the ruling military government. Shops and shopping malls have been closed in many major cities across the country. The streets are deserted. Despite the news that the army has ordered the shop owners to return to work, the peace struggle is still going on there.
