Arrested on charge of stepson’s death Henry Borel, former councilor Jairo de Souza Santos Junior, known as Dr. Jairinho, had his medical record permanently revoked by Cremerj (Regional Council of Medicine of Rio de Janeiro), this Wednesday (15).

The sentence was determined, unanimously, during the plenary of the trial, this afternoon, at the headquarters of the council.

In a note, Cremerj stressed that this is the highest penalty established by the Code of Ethical-Professional Process. As a result, Jairinho is completely barred from practicing medicine in Brazil.

In jail almost two years ago, the former councilor awaits in preventive detention the date of the trial at the Jury Court. He and the child’s mother, Monique Medeiros, who is free, are accused of the boy’s death, which occurred in March 2021.

In testimony to Justice, the couple denied the accusations.
