KYIV. March 17. UNN. The German Fencing Federation (DFB) has informed the World Fencing Federation (FIE) that it will not host the Women’s Rapier World Cup, scheduled for the first weekend of May in Tauberbischofsheim, due to a protest against the admission of Russians and Belarusians to international competitions, reports UNN.

“The discussions of the last few days following the decision of the FIE Congress to once again allow the participation of Russia and Belarus have caused heated discussions both inside the country and outside its borders,” said the president of the federation (DFB), Claudia Bockel.

Claudia Bokel also stated that their (DFB) solidarity remains with the people of Ukraine.

“As before, our solidarity is with the people of Ukraine, who are suffering from an aggressive war,” she said.

“As much as we would like to present our best athletes to the German public and give them the opportunity to use the advantage of their native walls on the way to the Olympic Games in Paris, the circumstances force us to make a difficult decision,” Claudia Bockel emphasized.
