Contract with the original buyer of Hahn Airport has been terminated

by time news

In the sale of the insolvent Hunsrück Airport Hahn, the contract with the original buyer has been terminated. According to information from the German Press Agency, insolvency administrator Jan Markus Plathner canceled the notarial agreement in January 2023. The lawyer does not comment on this.

According to dpa information, Swift Conjoy GmbH once offered well over 20 million euros for the only major airport in Rhineland-Palatinate and signed the purchase contract in June 2022. At that time, the Frankfurt company announced more jobs and investments at the airport. But it never paid. Swift Conjoy did not respond to a dpa request.

Decision to rooster on March 30th?

Also in January 2023, insolvency administrator Plathner concluded a purchase agreement with NR Holding AG of the Nürburgring around Russian entrepreneur Viktor Charitonin and the Mainz-based real estate group Richter. Both companies have also transferred a purchase price to an escrow account – but for the time being without the green light from the creditors. In the meantime, the Turkish airport operator YDA has also expressed an interest in buying in the Hunsrück. The state of Hesse still holds 17.5 percent of the airport with a rather rare and coveted night flight permit.

On March 30, the creditors of four Hahn sister companies could decide on the sale of Hahn Airport in a meeting at the Bad Kreuznach insolvency court. According to dpa information, it is expected that Plathner will present a voting proposal for one or more bidders.

The insolvent operating company Flughafen Frankfurt-Hahn GmbH (FFHG), on the other hand, has its own creditors’ committee and therefore does not need any creditors’ meetings. According to dpa information, the FFHG creditors’ committee will only deal with the Hahn sale again after March 30th.
