India’s star ex-cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has batted brilliantly for 24 years, scoring 30000+ runs and 100 centuries, from his 16-year-old pinch-leg debut against Pakistan to his retirement in 2013. During his time, the opponents would come with a bang saying that if they want to defeat India, they have to defeat Sachin first. “However, I changed a bit after playing in the county series. But Sachin Tendulkar is a very knowledgeable cricketer. I bowled the first over in that match and sledged him. Sachin came to me especially when I used some bad words “Sahi I never thought you would do this. You don’t seem like someone who uses words like that. I thought you were a good person.” The way he said it so lovingly had a huge impact on me for the next 4 overs.”
“Especially because he finished his work before realizing what he said about me. That means he is settled in his batting. All these are tactics in cricket. That means when someone speaks well of you, you think about it. When I think about it in that way I respect Sachin hitting at least one boundary in my next 4 – 5 overs. But it was only when he finally came down and hit a boundary that I felt he hit me in the face.”

“That’s when I realized he had played a mind game on me. He was so settled using it that I couldn’t do anything about it. One evening after that match I met him at the hotel and told him “You are a very clever man”. Then he smiled. It was at that moment that I understood how he had ensnared me with kind words and not with his bat,” he said.
