Yesterday, Thursday night, in front of the house of a member of the Divisional Council located on Koppai Manippai Road, the member of the Divisional Council and his wife were returning home after attending a temple festival.

Meanwhile, when the divisional council member and his wife tried to stop him from cutting the jewellery, both of them were slashed with swords and fled.

Neighbors rescued both the injured and admitted them to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
