Time to stop heavy work: High Court | High Court of Kerala

by time news

Kochi: The High Court has said that freight labor is a remnant of the past and that freight workers should be rehabilitated. Justice Devan Ramachandran said that the time has come to stop the load work and pointed out that the load workers are doing what the machines have to do.

The court was hearing petitions seeking police protection following labor disputes. Judgment in the case of Nokukuli has been shifted to 14.

It is shocking to see the efforts of the porters. After the age of 50–60, their health deteriorates and their lives end. Can anyone believe that it is a heavy duty job in the 21st century? In the past this was done by slaves. Only here it is still there. Other countries will not allow their own citizens to do this. The court said that despite the ban on dredging by law, it still exists in many places, though not in Kerala.

English Summary: High Court of Kerala on headload workers
