-A truck overturns in southern Mexico, killing 54 refugees. The truck crashed near the town of Guterres in Tucson, Chiapas. The truck was carrying more than 100 people from Central American countries, including Honduras, who had immigrated to the United States via Mexico.
It is estimated to be one of the deadliest killings in U.S. immigration history.
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has expressed his condolences over the incident. Chiapas, which shares a border with Guatemala, is the region with the highest number of undocumented immigrants.
