Kinizsi-Burg
In the small town of Nagyvázsony on Lake Balaton, a tourist magnet is now open for visits again.
Kinizsi Castle has been extensively reconstructed at a cost of 1.6 billion forints (EUR 4 million), as one of thirty palaces and castles under a National Modernization Program. The legendary warrior Pál Kinizsi once received the castle for his services. His wife Benigna Magyar lived for about a quarter of a century in the residential tower of this castle, which has now been restored in a particularly attractive way, along with other exhibition rooms and event areas. A chessboard is shown here, the set of pieces of which was completely reconstructed based on the discovery of three chess pieces from that time.
But not only the charming castle became more beautiful, in Nagyvázsony around 70 properties in the vicinity of the castle were recently modernized.
