Mumbai,

The IPL 2023 series is going to start in Ahmedabad on 31st. In the first match, the current champion Gujarat Giants led by Hardik Pandya and the former champion Chennai Super Kings led by Dhoni will face each other.

Dhoni, who is the captain of the Chennai team, is now 41 years old. So there are reports that he will retire from IPL cricket with this IPL season. It is noteworthy that Dhoni has already retired from international cricket.

Perhaps if Dhoni retires with this year’s IPL season, the Chennai team management will be forced to choose a new captain. While the information about Dhoni’s retirement is coming out, there is still no information from his side in this regard.

In this case, I don’t think this is Dhoni’s last IPL season and Dhoni can play for the next three to four years, said former Chennai opener Shane Watson. In this regard he says,

I heard this is Dhoni’s last IPL season. But, I don’t think so. Dhoni can play for the next three to four years. He is still in good shape. Also, he performs well in batting and wicket keeping.

His captaincy has been nothing short of outstanding, just like his playing. His fitness and understanding of the game makes him a great captain. His talent on the field is immense. Dhoni was also a major reason for CSK’s success.

This is what he said.
