After evaluations of damage to the infrastructure of the San Vicente de Paul Hospital in the province of El Oro; The Minister of Health, José Ruales, reported that as of March 20, 2023, the repair of areas affected by the earthquake in this health facility will begin, with an investment of $400,000. The Hospital de Pasaje suffered some non-structural damages in the areas of hospitalization, surgical center, external consultation and administration, without interfering with its operation.

Additionally, the health authority announced that a comprehensive repowering of the health home is scheduled with the construction of a new emergency service; roof waterproofing; improvement of the electricity supply systems, drinking water, oxygen, connectivity and air conditioning for a total of $600 thousand.

In the province of El Oro, the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), through the Teófilo Dávila (Machala), San Vicente de Paul (Pasaje) and María Lorena Serrano (El Guabo) hospitals, treated 327 patients with the committed work of 299 health workers including doctors, nurses, biochemists, psychologists, laboratory and x-ray technologists, obstetricians, nursing and pharmacy assistants, drivers, engineers, architects, and administrative staff.

During this day, this health facility received an additional shipment of medicines from the Health Zonal Coordination 7 to maintain and guarantee the supply of medicines during the emergency. Currently, it has sufficient resources to cover the need for drugs and supplies for the entire year.
