Even basic facilities were denied; Christians are fleeing Pakistan’s Sindh province

by time news

Lahore: 45 families of Christians who are being persecuted for their faith have fled their villages in Pakistan’s Sindh province. The Christian families decided to leave the country when the separations without providing even basic facilities became unbearable.

Last year, due to the floods in Pakistan and the poverty that followed, violence against the minority community, Christians, escalated.

Even the available facilities were denied to the Christians in the name of Christianity. The Christian families fled from there to avoid further problems when things turned into conflict.

16 families moved to Ghot Shora, a slum village in Sindh. There, a local social worker provided them with land. 12 families moved to Garibabad slum and 17 families moved to Hari camp on the banks of the canal.

The life of Christians in the camps is very difficult. Lack of access to clean water and use of contaminated water contribute to the spread of malaria and skin diseases.

“We don’t know when this terrible period will end. We are tired of this miserable life. We believe that Almighty God will send someone to support us. And pray for it’ – said Nasreen Bibi, a mother of three children, thirty-eight years old.
