Police in Arlington, Texas, in the United States, responded to a shooting attack at a high school on the morning of this Monday (20).

Initial information shows that a suspect opened fire in front of the school and hit at least two students at around 7:30 am local time (9:30 am GMT).

Both were attended by medical teams, but their health status has not yet been reported. The school is closed, including with teachers and students locked inside the building.

On Twitter, local police said, “This morning, they were called to Lamar High School to investigate a report of a shooting that occurred outside the classrooms. The crime scene is preserved, and the suspect in the shooting has been arrested. . The school is closed indefinitely. We’ll provide more details when we have news.”

Law enforcement has asked parents, students and the Arlington community to stay away from the school while the investigation continues.

Upon completion of the classroom inspection and building closure, students, faculty and staff will be allowed to return home for the day.

In May of last year, a boy invaded a school in Texas and killed 19 children and two adults, in addition to injuring dozens of students. The attack took place at a primary school in Uvalde. The shooter died at the scene, possibly after a confrontation with police.
