The President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), and the Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, announced this Monday (20) the resumption of the Mais Médicos program, which had been extinguished in 2019.
According to the federal government, the initiative will expand access to medical care in the country, especially in regions of extreme poverty. The chief minister of the Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, Paulo Pimenta, informed that the new format of the program will give priority to Brazilian physicians.
