“First we will need more details about the proposal,” Farhan Haq said. “But of course we encourage all the efforts that all countries are making to do everything possible to resolve this conflict through dialogue.”
“Each peace process is unique. They have their own dynamics. It’s quite clear that the General Assembly resolution says that. It’s quite clear that the UN Charter says that, and so we want any peace that’s reached to be consistent with those provisions.” – he said.

His remarks came after Chinese President Xi Jinping met with his Russian counterpart in Moscow to discuss, among other things, the war in Ukraine.
Putin indicated that China’s proposals could be used as a basis for negotiations.
