The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in a senior class at Gaston Berger high school in Lille. In the middle of the economics-law specialty test for the STMG baccalaureate (management techniques), a candidate felt unwell.
“He fell on the ground”, says one of his comrades interviewed by La Voix du Nord. His death was confirmed to Parisian by the rectorate of Lille. “The patient was taken care of by the Samu, then resuscitation gestures were given to him throughout the journey”, also tells us the city’s university hospital “Resuscitation did not make it possible to keep him alive and he died shortly after his arrival, ”says the hospital center.
Listening cell since Tuesday evening
The students, in shock, were asked to go home without finishing their copy. The event will be organized again next week. The rectorate specifies that a listening unit was set up on Tuesday evening for the students and the staff of the school. It was first a medico-psychological emergency unit which was organized by the CHU, before handing over this Wednesday to psychologists mandated by the National Education.
According France Blue North, some high school students present in the room at the time of the discomfort “describe a scene of chaos and denounce the lack of responsiveness of the eight adults who were in charge of surveillance”. Contacted by Le Parisien, neither the rectorate nor the Nord prefecture wished to react to these allegations.
