Former congresswoman Sara Piedrahita will go to court again for the hemophilia cartel in Córdoba

The Supreme Court of Justice opened a new formal investigation and called the former representative of the Chamber to investigate Sara Elena Piedrahita Lyons, for the alleged crimes of falsifying a private document and procedural fraud.

The woman had already been charged by the Court for another crime in 2022: money laundering, within the framework of the same investigation.

through this poster the resources of the department of Córdoba were embezzled in 2013, when those involved passed off healthy people as patients with hemophilia, with the purpose of delivering health care resources that were destined for other matters.

The Hemophilia Cartel, as this corruption network was called, had the purpose of taking advantage of the resources allocated to this disease, even with phantom patients, to obtain resources for personal enrichment.

For this case, the lawyer Leonardo Pinilla was suspended for three years, they are also under investigation former governors Alejandro Lyons and Edwin Besaile.

Likewise, the former governor of Bolívar, Juan Carlos Gossaín Rognini, was dismissed and disqualified for 10 years, as were the governor’s health secretary, the technical director of insurance and provision of services of the Ministry of Health and other officials of Bolivar Governorate.
