Pensions: between 40 and 50% of strikers in primary schools this Thursday

by time news

A very popular movement. Between 40 and 50% of primary school teachers will be on strike Thursday on the occasion of the new day of inter-union mobilization against the pension reform, provides this Wednesday the Snuipp-FSU, the first union in nursery and elementary schools.

The union expects strong mobilizations in many departments such as Bouches-du-Rhône, Pyrénées-Orientales or Haute-Vienne with more than 50% of strikers, Seine-Saint-Denis (55%) or even Paris with 70% of school teachers on strike, detailed its general secretary Guislaine David.

“It becomes a real sacrifice for teachers to strike given the salary context of school teachers. We also notice that colleagues engage in gatherings after class,” commented Guislaine David.

Strongest mobilization since January 19

This is the strongest mobilization in National Education as part of the protest against the pension reform since the first day of mobilization, organized on January 19. The Ministry of National Education had recorded 42.35% of strikers in primary and 34.66% in secondary (middle and high schools).

The unions had announced strike rates of 65% in secondary schools and 70% in primary schools.
