Doha: The authorities have tightened the inspection with a warning that strict action will be taken if excessive prices are charged for food products during Ramadan. As the demand for food items increases during Lent, many schemes have been put in place to prevent overcharging.

Director of Quality Licensing and Market Control Department Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Bohashem Al Said stated. The sale of sheep has started from 18th of this month.

913 food and non-food products have been reduced in price in collaboration with various stores in the country. This discount is valid throughout Ramadan. Consumers have the facility to report directly to the authorities if vendors charge excessive prices.
