Mercè Torrentallé takes over from Enriqueta Vidal as president of the Catalonia Mental Health Federation
Isabel mayor, secretary of Daruma, and Rosa García, president of Trebolmente, new members of the board of the Federation in an Assembly in which 3 new federated entities have been incorporated
The day before yesterday, March 21, 2023, Mercè Torrentallé was elected the new president of the Catalunya Mental Health Federation, replacing Enriqueta Vidal, at the first General Assembly of the year 2023, an Assembly where the registration of new member entities of the Federation, as well as new additions to the board, among other issues.
The Assembly, which was held at the Pati Llimona Civic Center and was also broadcast by streaming between 4 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., had a total participation of 26 associations in person and up to 32 associations virtually.
New presidency in the SMC Federation
Enriqueta Vidal, president of the Catalunya Mental Health Federation since 2020, had some emotional words in which she reviewed her career as president, highlighting the triumphs and all the challenges that still remain to be done. Thus, it gave way to the new president chosen, Mercè Torrentallé, who has been part of the SMC Board of Directors since 2018 and is president of the La Noguera Mental Health Association, vice president of Obertament and member of the State Network of Women of the HEALTH Confederation MENTAL SPAIN.
Renewal of board members
Regarding the Board, there were two people who stepped aside to open the way for new incorporations. Mercè Martín and Susana Plasencia, members of the Board since 2009 and 2016 respectively, said goodbye with a few words of thanks to the Federation and all the associations that form it. Both will continue with an active role within Salut Mental Catalunya and the associative movement.
Next, Isabel Alcalde, secretary of the Daruma Association and Rosa García, President of Trebolmente, were elected to become part of the Federation Board.
From the Federation they thank “the tireless and unbeatable work of the colleagues who leave the board and the outgoing president” and give “the best welcome to the new additions to the board and the new presidency. Good luck!”.
ASFATAC, Sports 2 Live and Visual TEAF, new federated entities
On the agenda were, among other items, the approval of the modification of the bylaws of the SMC Federation, the main challenges and areas of action for 2023 and the ratification of the incorporation of new federated entities.
The entities that opted to be part of the Federation and that were finally chosen were:
- Asfatac, Association of relatives of adolescents with Eating and/or Conduct Disorders.
