Every day due to cultural and religious activities, blockades, demonstrations and maintenance work, the municipal authorities make changes to the routes of the different lines of the Transmetro service. During Lent and Easter, the changes in the seasons will be more frequent, according to the municipal authorities.
Currently, the Transmetro covers Guatemala City zones 1, 2, 6, 12, 13, 17 and 18; there are several stations enabled to serve users who travel to various places in the capital and municipalities such as Villa Nueva.
Amílcar Montejospokesperson for Emetra and the Guatemalan Municipal Traffic Police, warned that this week due to some religious activities and demonstrations, some stations could be disabled and some detours made.

Changes for religious events
For Friday, March 24, the departure of the procession is scheduled ichild of the replica of Jesus Nazareno de Candelaria and Blessed Virgin of Dolores, of the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria Parish, 13 avenue and 1st street zone 1. “The departure is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. and it is expected to return at 7:00 p.m.,” informed the municipal authorities.
The departure of the procession of the Christ of the Precious Blood and Virgin Sorrowful Franciscana is also expected, from the Temple of San Francisco, 6th avenue and 13th street, zone 1 of the capital. It is scheduled to leave at 6:00 p.m.
Riots and maintenance
The municipal authorities indicated that on Thursday, March 9, they enabled the El Calvario station on Line 13 after completing the cleaning work due to the damage caused during a demonstration on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 8. He confirmed that in order not to affect the services, the repair work will be carried out this Friday so as not to affect the service.
“The station has been open since the night of the riots, it has been cleaned and all the glass that could be dangerous for users has been removed. Maintenance is scheduled for this Friday”explained.
