Unemployment in Poland last month remained at the level of January, which was the highest in nine months. In a year-on-year comparison, the unemployment rate fell slightly. This was pointed out by the data published on Thursday by the Polish Statistical Office, which were reported by the portals RTTNews and tradingeconomics.

The statistics office said the unemployment rate reached 5.5 percent in February. That’s the same level as in January and the highest since April last year, when it stood at 5.6 percent. However, in a year-on-year comparison, unemployment fell by 0.4 percentage points.

The number of registered unemployed reached 864,800, which represents an increase of 7,200. However, the increase in the number of people without work was moderate enough to be reflected in the development of the unemployment rate.
