Meta announced the launch of WhatsApp for Windowsan instant messaging platform application for computers with said operating system, which allows end-to-end (E2E) encrypted video calls with up to eight people and audio calls with up to 32 participants.

These news come because the company is aware that “hundreds of millions of people use WhatsApp on computers and tablets”, so it has focused its efforts on improving “even more” the messaging and calling experience, as explained in a statement.
