At that time, a youth from Chennai, who had traveled on a flight from Dubai to Chennai, was stopped and questioned on suspicion. He contradicted the authorities and searched his belongings. As there was nothing in it, they took him to a private room and searched him.
They found that he had smuggled the gold hidden inside his underwear. They seized 1 kg 70 grams of gold worth Rs 54 lakh 98 thousand from him. In this regard, the customs officials have arrested the youth and are investigating further.
