India lost 2-1 (3) in the last 2 ODI series against Australia to prepare for the World Cup at home in October. So India lost a series at home for the first time since 2019 and lost the number one spot in the ICC rankings to Australia. Earlier, in recent times, fans have been making accusations that Indian players are not selected according to their merit and skill or form.
For example, KL Rahul is a quality player but his modest form over the past year has left the fans in a tizzy. On the other hand, Sanju Samson, who has been in good form since 2015 and has been in good form since 2015, has been a mystery to the fans. In this case, former player Laxman Sivaramakrishnan said that Suryakumar is a good example of some players being selected for star status in the Indian team and criticized the selection committee saying that a player should not be selected in all 3 types of cricket just because he is amazing in T20 cricket.
And the basic selection of the Indian team which is strange in certain types of cricket and not selecting certain players properly, he said about this on his Twitter page as follows. “Suryakumar Yadav is a good example of how some players get continuous support and protection. T20 cricket is completely different from 50 over cricket. Also don’t divide red ball and white ball cricket. However, Suryakumar was part of the Test team.”
“You cannot select a player in all forms of cricket based on his performances in T20 cricket. It requires the ability to innovate. But if you play in the same way then you might falter a bit in bigger format cricket like 50 overs or Tests.”
While many fans supported his opinion, one fan posted that “It is bad that the selectors are choosing the current Indian team based on the IPL series”. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan answered yes.

Also, a fan retorted that Suryakumar should not be judged by a series. To which Sivaramakrishnan replied that he had been saying this before and reiterated that Suryakumar was not the best ODI batsman.
