AIFF Secretary General Shaji Prabhakaran informs that all the worries will be over and everything will be back to normal with the start of the qualifying round. Shaji Prabhakaran said in an exclusive interview with Times of India, “If we feel the need to change the venue in the knockouts after the qualifying round, then it will be considered.”
Kochi was the first venue on the list
In the wake of the massive success of the 2022 Santosh Trophy, Kozhikode Corporation Stadium and Mancheri Payyanad Stadium have been announced as the venues for the AIFF Hero Super Cup. Kochi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium was also included in the first report. But when the fixture was officially announced, Kochi was out of it.

Currently Kozhikode Corporation Stadium is not fit to host the Hero Super Cup, so the qualifying round matches were shifted to Mancheri Payyanad Stadium. The qualifying rounds are from April 3rd to 6th.
It is learned that the main concern of the teams is about the training grounds. Kozhikode Medical College, Devagiri College and Farooq College grounds were initially announced by AIFF for the training. However, two of these are not quite in a good condition for training.
Corporation Stadium not fully ready?
Kottapady Stadium and Seethihaji Stadium were announced as the training ground for the teams playing matches in Manjeri. However, it is reported that Siti Haji Stadium is not available.
Although the Kozhikode Corporation Stadium is not fully equipped. Floodlit in the stadium is unusable. Out of 320 bulbs, only 57 are lit. It is noteworthy that the Super Cup final scheduled to be held on April 25 is scheduled to be held at the Corporation Stadium.

Kochi standby
It was decided to organize the match between Kozhikode and Mancheri as per the decision of Kerala Football Association (KFA). Kochi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which received the award for the best pitch in the ISL, was put on standby – said Shaji Prabhakaran.
The AIFF General Secretary has indicated that the Hero Super Cup will be shifted to Kochi if necessary. If so, Kerala Blasters FC will get a chance to play at their own ground.

Blasters Group in Super Cup
Bengaluru FC and Round Glass Punjab are in Group A along with Kerala Blasters FC. A team will reach Group A after playing the qualifying round. Round Glass Punjab FC, the 2022-2023 season I-League champions, will be Kerala Blasters FC’s first opponent in the Super Cup. The match is on April 8.
