GWM confirms hybrid flex SUV in Brazil – News

by time news

After launching the Haval H6 in Brazil, GWM informed that it will produce a flex-fuel vehicle at the Iracemápolis factory, former Mercedes-Benz assembly line. This should be the first model assembled in the country and will be a hybrid, possibly a nationalized version of the Haval H6, a similar solution to the Toyota Corolla Cross.

With this measure, Great Wall Motor will be the second company to produce a flex-fuel hybrid system in Brazil. Although GWM has plans to sell a hybrid pick-up from the Poer line, the executives’ plan is to expand the participation of the Haval line.

Production of the new model should start only in the second half of next year, when the factory will be ready for production.

Currently, GWM is in the pre-sale phase of the Haval H6 HEV and PHEV in two versions with prices ranging between R$ 209 and R$ 299 thousand.
