The Alczar de San Juan Digital Competence Center robotises ninety processes for Renfe

The Renfe Digital Competence Center (CCD) in Alcázar de San Juan has celebrated its second anniversary. During this time, he has focused his activity on the development of digital robotization technologies, intelligent data analysis and automation of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) processes and has robotized more than 90 processes in the Renfe Group.

This center was born with the aim of focusing its activity on the areas of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. To this end, robotic process automation (RPA) technologies are used, such as Blue Prism, UiPath, and Low Code platforms, and with them, agile responses are offered to Renfe’s digital needs.

At present, two years after its start-up, it has a staff of more than thirty employees. Since its inauguration, in May 2021, these professionals have helped Renfe’s digital transformation and has obtained international recognition for the automation of intelligent processes with the Blueprism computer tool.

The facilities have been operating at full capacity since they opened and have achieved a high level of specialisation. These characteristics have made the Alcázar de San Juan center a main player in the digital transformation of Renfe and its businesses.

Alcázar de San Juan automates tasks that make life easier for customers and workers, to achieve efficient solutions, such as the Circulation vs. Sales Process, which analyzes more than 3,500 planned train routes daily. . With automation, this supervision is carried out every day, possible inconcurrencies in planning are identified and those responsible are notified for their resolution. This robot has helped to save on expenses, fuel and electrical energy, since it ensures the correct planning of the train itinerary, and it is not necessary to enable alternative transport services. In addition, it has contributed to reducing the consumption of paper, since in some cases banknotes that were not available for circulation have been eliminated from sale.

In these two years, in addition to robotizing 90 processes in the Renfe Group, this center has received prestigious worldwide recognition for the quality of the technological processes carried out. This is the maturity level 3 assessment within the CMMI model (Capability Maturity Model Integration – Integrated Model of Maturity and Capacity), both in Development and in Services, that the CMMI Institute has granted to the CCDs that Renfe has through its LogiRail subsidiary.
