Sinarmas Muslim Foundation Together with ICMI Waqf of 2,000 Mushafs of the Koran

by time news

The Koran is the holy book of Muslims and is much needed, especially in the holy month of Ramadan. The need for Qur’an mushafs is around 2 million every year, of course the government is unlikely to be able to meet these needs because of possible budget constraints. For that we need the participation of the private sector and others to help fulfill it.

Besides that, data from the Ministry of Religion states that there are still many Muslims, approximately 60% who cannot read the Koran. Departing from these conditions, Sinarmas helps to bring the Mushaf of the Koran to Muslims every time before the holy month of Ramadan by conducting endowments of the Koran complete with translations in various places through Islamic organizations, ministries, regional governments, religious leaders and others.

“We have been waqf of the Koran since 2008 until now and more than 1.2 million copies of the Koran have been distributed,” said Sinarmas Managing Director Saleh Husin, Saturday (25/3).

“Alhamdulillah, on Saturday (25/3) we from the Sinarmas Muslim Foundation (YMSM) were able to symbolically hand over 2,000 copies of the Koran to the Association of Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI) which later these Quranic manuscripts will be distributed to a number of mosques and prayer rooms in various regions,” he said. former Minister of Industry Saleh Husin added.

Taking place at the ICMI Central Office in Warung Buncit, South Jakarta, the symbolic handover of the Al-Qur’an Mushaf was attended by YMSM General Chairperson Saleh Husin to ICMI Chairperson Prof Arif Satria who is also the Chancellor of IPB. Also witnessed by YMSM Advisory Board Chairman Badrodin Haiti who is also the former National Police Chief and YMSM Supervisory Board Irsyal Yasman, and ICMI Deputy Chairperson Priyo Budi Santoso. In addition, ICMI Vice-Chancellor Andi Anzar Cakra Wijaya and ICMI Jafar Hafsah and several other ICMI administrators were also present.

“Our hope is that the Koran can be useful for Muslims in understanding and interpreting the meaning of the holy book of the Koran because it has been equipped with a translation, let alone distributed in this holy month of Ramadan,” said Saleh.
