New Delhi: The parade of the first batch of soldiers who have been inducted into the Navy and completed their training under the ‘Agnipath’ program is scheduled to take place on March 28 at the INS Silka Training Center in Odisha.

In June last year, the central government had announced the Agnipath scheme for recruitment in the Army, Air Force and Navy.

In this scheme, while soldiers have been recruited and trained in all the three armies, the parade of the first batch of soldiers who have been recruited and trained in the Navy is going to be held on March 28.

While the parade of army veterans is usually held during the day time, this parade is going to be held on the evening of 28th.

A Navy statement said: 2,600 firemen, along with 273 women soldiers, have completed a 16-week basic training on naval honor, duty and courage, along with academic, service and outdoor training, at the INS Silka training center in Odisha.

In this, the soldiers who pass will be stationed in warships for sea training.
The parade will be telecast live on the Navy’s YouTube channel and social media pages, as well as on the Dharthashan TV channel.

During this parade, awards will be presented to deserving players in various categories. Starting this year, a new trophy will be introduced in memory of the late Triforce Commander Bipin Rawat.

It is to be awarded by Bipin Rawat’s daughters to the first runner-up in the ‘Female Agniveeraranganai’ category.

Naval Commander Harikumar will be the Chief Guest and Reviewing Officer on this occasion.
