During this summer, construction work for the Västlänken in Almedal, Gothenburg will disrupt train traffic along the route. Trains will stop at Mölndal instead of Gothenburg. Mette Ramquist, press manager at Västtrafik, stated that they are trying to lessen the impacts on travelers as much as possible. The stop is anticipated to last from June 19 to August 20. Västtrafik is working with SJ and Öresundstågen to develop a plan for managing traffic during this period. Ramquist added that it is still uncertain whether replacement buses or trams will accommodate the disrupted trains.
This summer, major work will be carried out in Almedal in Gothenburg, a stage in the construction of the Västlänken. It will affect all train traffic that passes the route and the trains to Gothenburg will stop in Mölndal.
– It’s a big job that naturally has consequences for train traffic. But we do everything to ensure that it affects travelers as little as possible, says Mette Ramquist, press manager at Västtrafik.
The stop is expected to last between June 19 and August 20 this summer. The details of how the traffic will be arranged during this period are not yet complete, but Västtrafik is working on developing a plan together with, among others, SJ and Öresundstågen.
– It is not clear yet, it may be about replacement buses or that we refer to trams. We are working to solve it as smoothly as possible, says Mette Ramquist.
