Tirupur: A refresher training for local women representatives on the topic ‘Women in Politics’ will begin in Chennai on 28th.
Women’s participation in local governance is insufficient. The Department of Rural Development has ordered that women representatives should be given innovative training and encouraged to shine in politics.
Officials of the Department of Rural Development said:
A three-day innovation training camp with the participation of three women councillors, panchayat unions and women union committee leaders from 36 district panchayats across Tamil Nadu, titled ‘Women in Politics’.
Among the district councillors, SC, – ST, women councilors have been instructed to participate in the training on priority basis. From the 28th to the 30th, there will be an innovation training camp at the Madaramalainagar Training Centre, Chennai.
