One such person is Ratnesh Tiwari, who started a free school for needy children and due to his efforts many street children have been connected with education today.

Ratnesh Tiwari of Gorakhpur has been trying to bring the light of education in the lives of many with the help of his organization Yuva India for the last seven years. Ratnesh, an engineer by profession, always had the urge to help the needy.

The Better India Talking to Ratnesh told that wherever he lived in connection with studies and job, he used to do social work by joining one or the other organization. He has got the inspiration to do this from his parents.

While working in Hyderabad, he was working for the street children, then he thought that why not do such work while staying in his own city.

Ratnesh wanted the children of the street families in his city to have a good life. With this thought he came back to Gorakhpur, coming here he started his own work. Also formed an organization for the needy.

Started free school with three-four children

Ratnesh with his Students

Ratnesh started the Yuva India Manch in the year 2016. Under this, he himself used to go to a slum area and teach children. Initially, he started a school named ‘Akshar Muhim Pathshala’, in which only four-five children used to come to study.

Gradually, more educated and capable people started joining them. After this, he started setting up schools on a small scale in different areas of the city. Ratnesh saw that despite having government schools, children were not taking admission there, because these children or their families had no idea of the power of education.

Working to improve the education of children and the economic condition of the family

Ratnesh and his team try to find out how to make these children reach the school. Although, this work was not that easy but he did not give up. With time the number of children in his free school started increasing. Today Ratnesh has connected more than 300 children with the school.

Along with this, he is also working to improve the condition of the families of these children. He runs a livelihood program for the women living here. Today many doctors, engineers and MBA graduates have joined his team.

It is the result of their efforts that today many families of the city are not dependent on anyone for their small works. There has also been a lot of improvement in their economic and social status. Means, with the hope of change, Ratnesh had taken his first step, today that change seems to be happening. The dream he had seen years ago, he is seeing it come true today.
