Kaspars Vingris heads the company “Europas Dzelzceļa lijnas”, which is the national implementer of the railway project “Rail Baltica” in Latvia. “It is not easy for three countries to jointly implement the biggest project of the century, it is a challenge in all aspects,” he admits in a conversation with “Delfi Bizness”.

“European Railway Lines” is a fully state-owned capital company, which implements works in several “Rail Baltica” for project implementation in relevant areas such as construction, station design and infrastructure management.

Kaspars Vingris emphasizes that the importance of “Rail Baltica” is much greater – it is not just a railway line. It is a new economic corridor, new mobility opportunities, supply chain and regional development.

One of the hobbies of the manager of “European Railway Lines” is long-distance sports events. Long-distance running, long-term projects, and even spiritual quests like pilgrimages all have a lot in common, he says.
