The Port of Cádiz puts out to tender the last available plot of La Cabezuela-Puerto Real

The board of directors of the Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz (Spain) has approved the tender that will end with the process of granting the concession for the last available plot of land in the customs area of La Cabezuela-Puerto Real.

This complex, which has achieved almost complete occupancy with only 10% of available land, is about to close its doors with a new hire. And it is that, the Port Authority received a request for a concession from a private promoter to settle in the last available plot located in the customs area.

After that, the competition process has begun in accordance with current legislation and two more companies compete for this space. As a consequence, a public tender has been organized in order to choose the offer of greatest interest.

Specifically, the concession term will be 35 years, although for every half million euros of investment added to the thirty million euros committed in the offer, an additional year will be granted to the initial term, up to a maximum of fifty years. Once this 77,000 m² plot is awarded, the available land in La Cabezuela-Puerto Real would be limited to a couple of areas outside of access control, which totals about 135,000m² of surface.

Another novelty in the area is that the Port of Cádiz will soon send the completion project for its new access tunnel to the container terminal to Puertos del Estado for its technical review, before receiving approval from the Council of Ministers.
