Governor arrives in Dourados to sign investment package for Uems – Economy

Ready to sign an investment package of R$ 17 million, the governor of the State, Eduardo Riedel (PSDB), participates, on the morning of this Monday (27th), in a program celebrating the 30th anniversary of the creation of Uems (State University of Mato Grosso do Sul), in Dourados. Upon arriving at the event, he highlighted the importance of the campus for the State.

“It is important that we have the education tripod formed for students from Mato Grosso do Sul and those who come from outside, this decentralization characteristic of UEMS makes us serve all our municipalities, all our regions”, he said shortly before starting the event.

In addition to concerts and institutional presentations, the schedule includes deliveries and signatures of important terms for the academic community, such as the investment package of more than R$ 17 million to be distributed on several work fronts in the teaching area.

According to the State Government, two vans and two buses will also be purchased, one exclusively for the actions of the Uems Program in the Community, one of the largest extension projects in Brazil. For this, R$ 3 million will be invested from the FNDE (National Education Development Fund).

Another BRL 600,000 will be used to acquire the Digital Library with more than 10,000 titles in different areas of knowledge, and another BRL 4.3 million will go towards opening new public notices to support undergraduate and graduate courses. Finally, R$ 8 million are reserved for scholarships and aid for university students.
