The Ambasamudram Assistant SP, accused of torturing over 30 people involved in minor crimes, has been moved to the waiting list. Balveer Singh, who worked as Assistant SP in Tirunelveli District, Ambasamudram, was selected as an IPS officer in 2020. Singh has been accused of torturing people, pulling out their teeth in areas such as Ambasamudram, Kallidaikurichi, VKpuram, and Pappakkudy. Victims claim that Singh would hit their mouth with a pebble, use the ‘Cutting Player’ to pull out teeth, and attack other parts of their body. A video of the incident was posted on social media, leading to an inquiry by Tirunelveli Collector Karthikeyan. In response to this, DGP Shailendrababu ordered Singh to be moved to the waiting list. Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai released a statement saying the police department is supposed to protect the general public, and the DMK and government should take strict action against the perpetrators. Ramadoss, the founder of BMC, called for the abusive officer’s dismissal.

He is said to have pulled out the teeth and tortured 30 people involved in petty crimes in Ambasamudram, Kallidaikurichi, VKpuram, Pappakkudy and other areas.
Assistant SP will catch those who are involved in assault and robbery and take them to the police station.
The hands of the arrested persons will be tied behind the back by the police.
Then, Assistant SP Balveer Singh, who had changed into plain clothes, would hit the man’s mouth with a pebble.
With the ‘Cutting Player’, he pulls out the bleeding teeth. Victims claim that he would torture the mysterious organ by attacking it.
Someone has published a ‘video’ on social media about this. Tirunelveli Collector Karthikeyan has ordered an inquiry into this atrocity.

‘The distress of seeking protection’

Regardless of the crime, brutal attacks on those brought in for trial are totally unacceptable.
It is very regrettable that the general public is seeking protection from the police department, which is supposed to protect them.
The DMK and the government should immediately conduct an investigation, get justice for the victims and take strict action against the perpetrators.

Ramadoss, the founder of BMC, said that the police officer who abused the prisoner under investigation should be ‘dismissed’.
