Incentive, PEE, PER… better understand employee savings

by time news

They are more than 12 million to benefit from it. In 2022, nearly half (47%) of employees — compared to 43% in 2020 — had employee savings, whether through profit-sharing agreements, participation, holding a PEE company savings) or a collective PER (retirement savings plan). The gross collection of these devices increased by 16% in one year, to 19 billion euros, according to the French Association of Financial Management. And their notoriety continues to grow. According to an OpinionWay study carried out at the end of January, more than 8 out of 10 employees are aware of its existence.

Employee savings should gain further ground after the signing of a national interprofessional agreement (ANI) on the sharing of value, which should soon be transcribed into law. “This agreement obliges us to demonstrate more education with regard to employees,” explains Claire Castanet, director of relations with investors at the AMF (Financial Markets Authority). Because no one can deny that “there is still sometimes confusion when we talk about employee savings”, adds Pascale Micoleau-Marcel, general delegate of the educational site La Finance pour tous.

It is precisely to clarify these tools that these two organizations have co-founded, with others, the Week of employee savings. From March 27 to 31, the 7th edition will answer practical questions. “Do I agree or not? What am I investing in? I am offered funds, how do I do it? The employee asks himself many questions, and very often he is not accompanied in his choices”, testifies Pascale Micoleau-Marcel. Among the points that are the most vague, the amount of the fees charged often comes up. “We are also asked a lot of questions about what happens to the plans when you leave a company,” adds the specialist.

For five days, meetings, webinars, a Facebook live (like that of the AMF on March 28 at 6 p.m.) are planned. The entire program is available on epargnesalariale-france.fr.
