Firli Affirms Consistent Commitment Until the End of Term of Office

The term of office of the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri will expire in a few months. He emphasized that he would be consistent in eradicating corruption until the end.

“We are committed to completing the task to the end and we ensure that there will be no more legal processes that are flawed as an inheritance for the next period,” said Firli in a written statement, Tuesday (28/3.

Firli said the handling of cases that complied with the applicable regulations was a set price. He doesn’t want to pass the problem on to the next commissioner.

The trident strategy for eradicating corruption, namely prosecution, education and prevention, will also be maximized. Anti-corruption education is claimed to have continued to increase since 2020 based on Indonesia’s Anti-Corruption Behavior Index (IPAK) score.

“In 2020 with a score of 3.84 and 2021 with a score of 3.88. This means that people are becoming more aware of anti-corruption behavior,” said Firli.

Then, the prevention system is maximized by measuring the success of improving the governance system for preventing corruption in ministries, institutions and local governments. Firli also said that this strategy was going well.

“Where the 2022 achievement is 104.17%, which is supported by prevention and monitoring tasks, as well as coordination of supervision,” said Firli.

Lastly, the fangs of prosecution also continue to be sharpened. The KPK is said to have exceeded its target in 2022.
