by time news

The Moroccan national team will face its Peruvian counterpart, today, Tuesday, at the Civitas Metropolitano Stadium, in the Spanish capital, Madrid, starting at 7:30 pm, in the second friendly meeting of the Atlas Lions, in preparation for the upcoming meetings.

The Atlas Lions aspire to confirm their victory over Brazil, when they face Peru, to continue reaping positive results, which will make them rise in the world ranking of teams, which will be issued by the International Federation of Football, after the end of the international break, as the Moroccan national team is expected to be among Top nine teams.

Ezzedine Onahi and Ashraf Hakimi will be absent from today’s match against Peru due to injury, which will make Regragui make some changes to the official squad that will enter the match, noting that it will give the opportunity to some players who did not play the Brazil match, which ended with the victory of the national elite with two goals. .

The two teams had met before only once, it was in the 1970 Mexico World Cup finals, and the match ended with the victory of the Peruvian national team with three clean goals, so that today’s meeting between them is tantamount to repaying the debt by Morocco, to achieve its first victory over it and continue to break the contract.

In relation to the aforementioned match, national voter Walid Regragui said that the Atlas Lions will play the friendly match against Peru, with the same spirit they had in the Brazil match.

“We always have the same spirit. The Moroccan national team respects all opponents and we are working to preserve the same spirit that allowed us to qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar and beat Brazil on Saturday in Tangiers,” Rekragui said, during a press conference held in Valdebebas, Real Madrid’s sports city. .

The same spokesman added, “The match will be difficult, especially after the victory over Brazil. We must maintain our level and focus on the details,” stressing that the Atlas Lions “will do their best to win the match.”

And he continued, “Peru is a large and very organized team that includes players of a high level. The victory over Morocco has become a challenge for all teams, so it is up to us to confirm our position and develop.”

Regarding the condition of the players after their efforts against Brazil, Regragui said that he would wait until the last training session to ensure the players’ readiness before deciding on the squad that will face Peru, ruling out the participation of the injured Ezzedine Onahi.

In the same context, the Referees Committee decided on the name of the Spanish referee, Juan Martin Monuera, to lead the match between Morocco and Peru, with the help of both his compatriots Diego Barbero, as first assistant, and Raul Martinez, as second assistant, while the task of the fourth referee was entrusted to the Spaniard Valentin Pizarro Gomez.
