The regular season ended with a battle for first place in the standings between Dantransa and PMVD. The match started very slowly: both teams often made mistakes, missed many shots from comfortable situations, and PMVD led 15:12 after the first quarter. In the second half, “PMVD’s” desire to win began to show – taking advantage of “Dantransa’s” holed defense, PMVD’s snipers bombarded the opponents with long shots, of which M. Seilius hit three in a row. True, “PMVD” also had problems in defense, because A. Tilindė, who was the host in the penalty area, easily collected points. Nevertheless, PMVD was ahead 43-32 at halftime. In the third quarter, “PMVD” continued to lead by a solid margin, which at one point reached the limit of 20 points, and D. Kuzmickas, who played successfully, was usually at the forefront of the attacks. It should be mentioned that the “PMVD” team was also accompanied by luck, as “Dantransa” had many good opportunities for shots, but did not use them. After three quarters, “PMVD” led 70:56. Things seemed to turn upside down in the fourth quarter as PMVD’s offense stalled and Dantransa finally started hitting. The shots of A. Tilinde and M. Gūzis reduced the deficit of “Dantransa” little by little, and finally the latter managed to change the result in their favor. However, PMVD tied the score and with two seconds left, had the right to make a final attack, which was unsuccessful, forcing the teams to play in overtime.
PMVD had a better start to overtime, taking a four-point lead. However, M.Jančiauskas, who was silent for a long time, nailed two long shots, and “Dantransa” tipped the scales of the match in their favor again.
