The governor of Jujuy and presidential candidate of the UCR in Together for Change (JxC), Gerardo Morales, was admitted to a sanatorium in that province due to kidney stones and his evolution was favorable. The hospitalization took place in the last hours in a clinic in San Salvador de Jujuy.
Morales was treated for a picture of “kidney stones” and is “well” and under “treatment with pain relievers,” they added from the governor’s entourage. However, due to his health situation, the national table of Together for Change suspended the meeting that was scheduled for this Wednesday.

Despite his statements, Morales has not yet resolved to be the only presidential candidate for the UCR. Deputy Facundo Manes still supports his nomination to face Morales and the pre-candidates that emerge from the PRO. “I see the leadership disconnected, speaking of internal, with expensive launches that nobody explains where the money comes from,” Manes pointed out, days after Morales’s launch in the Gran Rex.
The hospitalization of Morales also came at a complex moment for provincial politics, since Jujuy is in the process of closing the lists for the provincial elections, which will take place on May 7. The official candidate to succeed Morales is the Minister of Economy, Carlos Sadir.
