Israeli Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett arrives in UAE Naftali Bennett

Israeli Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett has arrived in the UAE on an official visit to Dubai. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received the Israeli Prime Minister at the Presidential Terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport. Also present were UAE Ambassador to Israel Mohammed Mahmoud Al Khaja and Israeli Ambassador to the UAE Amir Hayek.

This is the first visit of an Israeli Prime Minister to the UAE. He will meet with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Commander of the UAE and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, today. The two will discuss cooperation on issues such as finance and bilateral relations.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the UAE was scheduled several times but had to be postponed due to various reasons. Israeli Foreign Minister Yer Lapid visited Abu Dhabi last June to inaugurate the Israeli embassy. It was the first high-level visit since the signing of a US – mediated cooperation agreement between the two countries.
