In November 2020, a high-profile murder occurred outside a university in Borås. Two police officers who were charged in connection to the case are believed to have conducted an improper investigation alongside the official murder investigation. The murder remains unsolved. The officers are accused of withholding information from the head of the preliminary investigation, as well as mishandling footage that contains important information about the case. Both officers deny any wrongdoing.
In addition to the two officers, another police officer is accused of violating confidentiality by allegedly disclosing information about the investigation to the victim’s family. On the other hand, one of the officers is suspected of interrogating a key witness in the murder case, with the assistance of an assistant lawyer, in the premises of Björn Hurtig – who had been defending one of the murder suspects. As a result, the assistant lawyer is also charged with aiding and abetting gross misconduct. Hurtig himself is accused of bribery, but denies the allegations.

The lawyer Björn Hurtig was in turn suspected of having bribed one of the accused police officers. Something Björn Hurtig denied.
