Requirements to be the new director of the National Institute of Genomic Medicine

For her part, the Coordinating Commission of the National Institutes of Health and High Specialty Hospitals published the call to elect the new director of the National Institute of Genomic Medicine. If you are interested in the position, you must comply with the following:

  • Be a Mexican citizen with full enjoyment and exercise of their civil and political rights (Birth Certificate and Voting Credential issued by the National Electoral Institute).
  • Be a health professional, with one of the specialties of the National Institute of Genomic Medicine and have published research papers in the Institute’s specialty.
  • Have a recognized track record in medicine and recognized academic and research merits.
  • Not be in any of the impediments indicated in article 19, sections II to V of the Federal Law of Parastatal Entities, that is:
  1. Spouses and people who are related by consanguinity or affinity up to the fourth degree or civil with any of the members of the Governing Body or with the Head of the General Directorate.
  2. People who have pending disputes with the body in question.
  3. Persons sentenced for property crimes, disqualified from engaging in commerce or from performing a job, position or commission in the public service (provide proof of non-disqualification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration).
  4. The (the) Deputies (os) and Senators (s) to the Honorable Congress of the Union in the terms of article 62 of the Constitution.
  • Have experience in the performance of positions of high decision-making level whose exercise requires knowledge and experience in administrative matters.

On the other hand, those interested who meet all the requirements must submit their application at the following link. In doing so they must also submit a proposed Work Program to direct the National Institute of Genomic Medicine during the period 2023-2028.

The deadline for registration is April 12, 2023. While applicants must make an oral presentation of their job proposal on April 20, 2023 at the offices of the Coordinating Commission of the National Institutes of Health and Hospitals of High Specialty. From that date will be the internal debate to choose the new director of the National Institute of Genomic Medicine.
