One year after the tragedy of Officer Amir Khoury's demise in Bnei Brak, the courageous first responders.

The late Chief of Staff Amir Khoury’s parents were in attendance at the memorial ceremony held in the Dan area and at the site of the Bnei Brak attack where he was killed. During the ceremony, the area commander praised Amir’s heroism and his actions during the attack. The ceremony included the removal of the lot at the commemoration corner in the Dan area, a tribute to the late Hori who fell on Herzl Street, and the presenting of a windshield with gunshot marks on it from the motorcycle the late Hori was riding on the day of the attack. The Tel Aviv District Commander, Superintendent Amichai Ashad spoke about Amir’s sacrifice as a symbol of Israeli society, while the commander of the Dan area, National Police Chief Daniel Haddad called Amir a hero who sacrificed his life for others. At the ceremony, Amir’s father also paid tribute to the motorcycle family, whom Amir loved and appreciated. The event concluded with the presentation of space cushions to the family of the late Amir and the handover of his personal weapon. Today (Wednesday) a memorial service was held on the one year anniversary of the death of the late Major General Amir Khoury, who was killed when he attacked the terrorist in the Bnei Brak attack exactly one year ago.

As part of the ceremony, the lot was removed at the commemoration corner in the Dan area of Bnei Brak. Afterwards, a ceremony was held at the site of the attack where the late Hori fell on Herzl Street. At the ceremony, the family was awarded the windshield of the motorcycle with the gunshot marks on which the late Hori was riding that day.

Immediately after, a ceremony was held to award space cushions to the family of the late Amir and his personal weapon was handed over.

Tel Aviv District Commander, Superintendent Amichai Ashad said: “A year has passed, as if it were an eternity. A year since Amir became a familiar figure in every home in Israel, since he became a symbol of Israeli society. Your shining face, with the black beard, became a model of the beautiful Israeli, the servant, the sacrificer, the unifier. Amir’s fall reverberated in every city, every path and every road. A year after the event that united for one moment all parts of the nation – we are more committed than ever to your will.”

The commander of the Dan area, National Police Chief Daniel Haddad said: “March 29, 2022, the time is 8:00 p.m. in the evening. At the whistling of a bullet by a criminal terrorist. The moment when the reality of our lives changed. Just today, we gather here to mark the anniversary of this cursed moment and we all gather in his memory. The concept of a year is unfathomable when placed on such a timeline, of lives lost. Amir was a hero. He was the first to rush into the arena and attack, he was a human shield for others with his body and his life.

Amir’s father, Jeris Khoury: “I am standing here at the Bnei Brak station, the station that became your second home, if not your first, the station you loved being in so much, many hours with your coworkers. You had a large and beloved family here, a family The cops, the motorcycle family that you loved and appreciated so much.”
